Day 21: Three weeks ago Mrs. VS underwent her mastectomy. She has had her ups and downs.
Today we saw Dr D. (the breast care specialist). His prognosis is that Mrs VS is healing nicely but a little slower than average. The drains are still outputting. Since the drains are still collecting, well drainage they aren’t going to be removed.
Chemo will not start until after the drains have been removed. Mr. VS is not looking forward to the chemo. She is looking forward to the drains being out. Next Dr. appointment is to be scheduled when the drain outputs reach a certain level.
Good to hear she’s still OK (if not great)!

It takes time, unfortunately. I know she’ll get better in time. It’s the waiting part that’s hardest.

She’s concerned about chemo at this point. I think that once it starts and se realizes it isn’t as bad (hopefully) as she thinks it will be we’ll get through it easier.
