Officers Anderson and Stone

Officers Anderson and Stone are stationed near each other dealing with the prison outbreak from Newgate prison. This duo actually rank as my ninth favorite W101 Pop Culture reference.

Judge Harold T. Stone

Harold T. “Harry” Stone is a presiding judge for night court at Manhattan criminal court on the NBC-TV series Night Court. The part of Judge Stone is played by Harry Anderson. Harry is basically a young, good-humored judge and amateur magician whose parents were former mental patients. His zany antics and goofball sense of humor is tempered by infinite compassion and sincere belief that everyone has good in them. Harry can be a little self-righteous at times, but more often than not is the moral center of the show. Harry loved movies and fashions from the 1940s, was vocal in his disdain for modern music (especially Barry Manilow), and idolized crooner Mel Tormé.

Harry Anderson

Harry Laverne Anderson (October 14, 1952 – April 16, 2018) was an American actor, comedian and magician. He is best known for his lead role of Judge Harry Stone on the 1984–1992 television series Night Court. He later starred in the sitcom Dave’s World from 1993 to 1997. In addition to eight appearances on Saturday Night Live between 1981 and 1985, Anderson had a recurring guest role as con man Harry “The Hat” Gittes on Cheers. He toured extensively as a magician, and did several magic/comedy shows for broadcast, including Harry Anderson’s Sideshow (1987).

This is the sixty-second article chronicling the #W101PopCulture references starting in Wizard City and the nineteenth Marleybone article. The current list of all the (known) Marleybone references are located here.

Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references but I do not claim to have caught them all. Let me know your favorites in the comments and if I’ve missed one you caught, let me know so I can add it to the list.
