Master Tonkatsu

Master Tonkatsu is the final boss of Kembaalung. He is the servant of Hamakala. His Monsterology Tome entry reads thusly: Follower of Hamakala and singer of the Song of Discord, he was destined to either lead a cult or a heavy metal band.

Your wizard is treated to this exchange upon entering:
Master Tonkatsu: “Oh great and terrible Hamakala: the scourge of Khotan, the sorrow of Hamamitsu, hear my Song of Discord! I have brought you a living vessel so that you may take your rightful place as ruler of the mortal world!”
Hamakala: “On a mountain of skulls, in a castle of pain, I sat on a throne of blood! What was will be! What is will be no more! Now is the season of Disharmony!”
George Beagle: “Oh bother. Excuse me! I really haven’t the time for this! I’m terribly late for an appointment in Krokot… oh, hello there. Say young Wizard, you look the helpful sort. Mind giving me a hand here?”
Master Tonkatsu: “No! The summoning is not complete! Mighty Hamakala, help me silence this fool, so we may finish the Song of Discord!”

Janosz and Vigo

Master Tonkatsu and Hamakala’s exchange is lifted almost word for word from Ghostbusters 2.
Vigo : I, Vigo, the Scourge of Carpathia, the Sorrow of Moldavia, command you!
Janosz : [gets down on his hands and knees and starts bowing] O command me, lord!
Vigo : On a mountain of skulls, in the castle of pain, I sat on a throne of blood! What was will be! What is will be no more! Now is the season of evil!

Tonkatsu, a pork cutlet

Tonkatsu (豚カツ, とんかつ or トンカツ; Literally “pork cutlet”) is a Japanese dish that consists of a breaded, deep-fried pork cutlet. It involves coating slices of pork with panko (bread crumbs), and then frying them in oil. The two main types are fillet and loin. Tonkatsu is also the basis of other dishes such as katsukarē and katsudon. The word tonkatsu is a combination of the Sino-Japanese word ton (豚) meaning “pig”, and katsu (カツ), which is a shortened form of katsuretsu (カツレツ), an old transliteration of the English word cutlet.

This is a recently (Aug 31, 2022) found Krokotopian reference (Thank you Christian C). The current list of all the (known) Krokotopia references can be found here. These articles were originally put together for a Facebook group I belong to. Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references but I do not claim to have caught them all. Let me know your favorites in the comments and if I’ve missed one you caught, let me know so I can add it to the list.
