D: Ballard Flea Market and Souvenirs (Open 10-7 daily)

The Flea Market is a literal tourist trap. Much like the cheap fuel at the Stop & Shop the Flea Market is used to lure unwary travelers into the clutches of the gang. The Marauders have parked several of Hambone’s restored or recreated vehicles in the parking lot of the strip mall. These iconic late 20th century pop culture vehicles are still a draw and never fail to entice at least one sucker… er.. visitor to stop by each day.
(DMs notes) Underneath the Flea Market is a sound-proofed holding pen and basement. The basement can be accessed via a stairway located in the backroom. The backroom is closed to the public. The door is noted by the sign “Employees Only.” The holding pen is directly under the far (SE) corner of the store back by the “authentic Native American” souvenirs. There is a trap door right in front of turquoise jewelry display case, activated by the push of a button behind the counter. Unwary shoppers who venture into the back corner by themselves have been known to disappear. They fall into the open trap door and are gassed into unconsciousness before they hit the floor (though a quick-witted highly agile visitor might have a chance to hear the door opening and jump out of the way. High Observation and Agility skills are a must to even have a chance). The trap door is only large enough for a single person and an overly obese victim might get stuck.
If the victim had no traveling companions, a tow truck is dispatched from the Davis Bros. Tow Yard to take the vehicle back for stripping and/or processing, meanwhile an unmarked, non-descript, windowless van picks up the victims and brings them to the courthouse basement.
54 – Motel Monte Vista – 415 Route 66. Room #5, the motel is continued on Map #10
The description for the Motel is at Map #10
17 – Cromwell’s Trucking Road Freight Express (closed) – 212 Damian’s Way, 5 buildings and a reinforced concrete (30 DP) enclosure.
Building 17-A & Building 17-B are on Map #4
Building 17-C – Warehouse (5 pts metal armor). Continued on Map #4. What’s inside the warehouse? Only the Marauders know for sure. The 15’ tall overhead door operates the same way as the doors at the CoOp and Stop & Shop. The loading dock can accommodate two 52’ trailers at once.
DMs Notes: Most likely guns, ammo, auto parts, various dry goods associated with the town businesses.
Building 17-D – /Amory, Building (15 DP). Inside are many handheld rifles, pistols, grenades and other small arms. One of two gate switches is located inside.
Building 17-E – Guard Shack (5 DP). The other gate switch and the Minefield (similar to the minefield at the CoOp) button are located in this shack. The gates are metal (25 pts metal armor) and take 3 seconds to open or close. A skinny, agile person might (stress MIGHT) be able to squeeze between the gate and the wall. But there is still the minefield to consider. The Turreted VMG is controlled from the gatehouse when occupied and remotely from the towers of St. Timothy’s when no one is at the truck yard.
The trucking company is long since closed. When the company abandoned the property, they did so quickly (it’s not like they were given much choice). They left behind three forklifts, one moderately armed, moderately armored track ready pick-up (The Marauders use it for scavenging railroad yard up and down the BNSF line), and other equipment, an unknown quantity of ammunition and weapons, and who knows what (most likely machine parts for local farms, auto parts, and other items for the businesses in town) still inside the warehouse, every bit of it is now in the hands of the gang.
Somehow, somewhere the gang has managed to get a hold of three BNSF Auto Carriers (the rest of the third car is on Map #4). Stored inside each the carriers are six duel ready vehicles. Nicer vehicles “salvaged” from the Flea Market and Motel are taken to the Davis Bros. yard where they are stripped of ANY identifying tech, repainted, and otherwise modified so as not to be traceable back to their former, now missing owners. The carriers are visible to drones and aerial photography, but since the gate to the trucking company is normally closed their existence is not generally known. Only an infiltrator into town with a HIGH degree of investigative skill may be aware of the carriers.
For collision purposes each auto carrier is a stationary object weighing 105,000 Lbs empty and approximately 180,000 Lbs fully loaded. When hit head on, the weights are cumulative. DM will need to determine the position of loaded vehicles for damage purposes. Auto Carriers have 10 armor locations (Top, Front, Left Side; Front, Center, Rear, Right Side; Front, Center, Rear, Rear, and Bottom). Vehicles are loaded upper and lower front center and rear. DM determines placement for combat
*Note* – Cromwell’s Truck counters are included with the counters for Map #4. Some non-statted out counters for the vehicles on the carrier will be included with the Map #7 Counters.
41 – Occupied Two-story home (5 DP) – 210 Damian’s Way. This house looks to be in fairly (for the town) decent shape. Attached garage and concrete driveway.
The Hendersons live here; Mike (Driver +1, Gunner, Mechanic +1, Handyman +2), Carol (Driver, Gunner, Medical, Hairdresser +2), Barry 16 (Driver, Cyclist, Gunner), Maureen 16 (Driver, Gunner), Chris 13 (Driver), Eve 13 (Driver), Mike 7, and Susan 7 (yes three sets of fraternal twins).
Mike is a general handyman and knows his way around repairing bullet holes, holes in walls, electrical problems and the like. If it’s not vehicle repair, computer repair, or plumbing, you call Mike. Mike has a heavily armed, sporty, mid-size that he drives on weekends. When he’s working, he drives a heavily armed off-road suspension pickup and trailer. The truck and trailer are usually parked on the driveway if Mike is not working. The car stays in the garage unless Mike (No, Barry you may NOT borrow my car) is driving it.
Carol “owns” Cool Cuts Hair Salon in the strip mall. She no longer keeps hours at the store but will cut and style hair (and beards) of the town folk and Marauders by appointment. She drives a heavily armed station wagon. It’s usually parked in the garage.
Barry and Maureen share a VERY used, mid-size (HEAVILY armored, defensive weapons only) for getting around, running errands for Mom & Dad. They share the car (argue over whose turn it is to drive is more like it). The car is parked on the driveway. Barry is also re-building a motorcycle at Hambones.
