Panoptes

Panoptes is a rogue Scholar who stole Baba Yaga’s Seeing Eyes for his foolhardy Pet Hatching experiments. Conjurers must defeat Panoptes during their level 118 Pet Quest, Robbed Blind!.

“Who are you? A servant of Baba Yaga, eh? Guess she really is lost without her precious Seeing Eyes? Ha! Don’t worry, they’re fine. And, you’re just in time to see what I used them for. My first Wandering Eye pet has just hatched! I call him Blinky! Quite the looker, don’t you think? The second Egg will hatch any moment now! Eventually, I’ll hatch a vast network of Wandering Eyes, capable of spying on the entire Spiral! Oh, and they can fight too. Just watch!”

Panoptes

Argus or Argos Panoptes is a many-eyed giant in Greek mythology.

Argus Panoptes, guardian of the heifer-nymph Io and son of Arestor and probably Mycene (in other version son of Gaia), was a primordial giant whose epithet Panoptes, “all-seeing”, led to his being described with multiple, often one hundred, eyes.

The current list of all the (known) Aquila references are located here.

Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references, I do not claim to have caught them all. Let me know your favorites in the comments and if I’ve missed one you caught, let me know so I can add it to the list.
