Ballard Residential Area Patrol (BRAP) is the main security force (they do not call themselves a Police Force) of Ballard, WA. They the keep roaming gangs (most notably the Fuel Devils of downtown Seattle) and undesirables out after dark. They patrol the borders of Ballard along NW 85th Street and around know breaks in the wall of State Route 99. BRAP’s HQ is near the main checkpoint into Ballard is at the corner of Aurora Ave/99 and NW 85th St. Unofficially BRAP has been known to patrol as far east as I-5.
When the citizens of Ballard decided to secede from Seattle proper, many former Seattle PD officers kept their cars and repainted them Ballard, Yellow and Green. As the area was always one of the more prosperous sections of the Seattle metro area, soon the residents decided to buy custom Police Cruisers outfitted to their specifications from Alien Motors. Alien Motors now supplies all of BRAP’s security vehicles.
The Ballard, WA seal adorns the BRAP insignia. 1889 refers to when Ballard, had originally incorporated itself as a town. The “Cross” and red and blue colors acknowledge the joint Scandinavian (Denmark, Sweden, and Norway) heritage of many of the residents. The book acknowledges the many artists and scholars in the area and of course the Salmon acknowledges the many fisherman who still call the area home.
BRAP security vehicles feature in most of scenarios listed with the Ballard, WA maps hence why the counter sheet has 21 BRAP security vehicles.
