Mokompo Storm Growler

Mokompo Storm Growler, a Darkmane Lion, is being controlled by Zola Witch Eye, and Diviners will need to free him from her will during their Level 75 Minion Quest, Heavy With Rain.

Monkey, you stand before the fury of the sky! I call the thunder and lightning to prey upon you!

Mokompo Storm Growler

Mokompo lives in Kenya’s remote Loita Hills. He is one of the last, and the most important, of the Maasai laibon. A laibon is a vision seeker and traditionally they were among the most important members of the Maasai community.

A laibon is a spiritual leader, or a sage – a person gifted with the power to see deep into the future. Despite this ability, it would be incorrect to describe a laibon as a fortune teller, and they’re certainly not witch doctors (although they do have great knowledge of the medicinal properties of plants). Instead, they offer advice to an individual, or the community, on the best course of action to take in a given situation.

Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references, I do not claim to have caught them all. Let me know your favorites in the comments and if I’ve missed one you caught, let me know so I can add it to the list.
