The series ran for five seasons, with all 117 episodes originally airing on Fridays on ABC from September 26, 1969 – March 8, 1974 The series ran in the 8 p.m. U.S. Eastern (7p.m. Central) time slot, with the exception of season two, which aired at 7:30 p.m. Throughout its original run The Brady Bunch received mainly negative reviews and never broke into the Nielsen top 30.
Although it didn’t rank very high in the Neilsen ratings, this was due to the fact that Friday nights at that time were NOT prime TV viewership times. With it being the start of the weekend very few folks stayed home on Friday nights to watch television.
The success of “The Brady Bunch” in syndication led to several television reunion films and spin-off series.
