Zolo Stone Heart

Wizards face this Boss twice, first in the Forest Clearing located in Zultun Dock. He is holding Kathleen Wilder prisoner because he loves her stories.

After being defeated the first time, Zolo plots to ensure that the Wizard will fail to retrieve El Yollotl from Corazon Cave in Pitch Black Lake. Zolo wants El Yollotl for himself so he can win the heart of Kathleen Wilder.

Monstrology Tome Description

Like everyone, the man just loves a good romance story. I mean, he’s not made of stone.

Corazon Cave where we meet up with Zolo the second time is another reference to the film. In the film the stone is called El Corazón, Spanish for “The Heart”

Romancing the Stone is a 1984 action-adventure romantic comedy film directed by Robert Zemeckis, written by Diane Thomas and produced by Michael Douglas. The film stars Kathleen Turner, Michael Douglas, Danny DeVito and Manuel Ojeda as Colonel Zolo. The film follows romance novelist, Joan Wilder who must venture beyond her New York City comfort zone to Colombia in order to save her sister from criminals who are holding her for ransom as they search for a priceless treasure, an enormous emerald called El Corazón (“The Heart”).

Colonel Zolo (Manuel Ojeda) menaces Joan Wilder (Kathleen Turner) and her sister Elaine (Mary Ellen Trainor)

Colonel Zolo is the main antagonist of Romancing the Stone. He killed Eduardo, Joan Wilder’s brother-in-law to get the map to El Corazón. He is also the Deputy Commander of the secret police. After failing to obtain the map from Joan in New York, he follows her to Colombia in pursuit. At the end of the movie when he finally has El Corazón in his grasp, a crocodile bites off the hand holding the emerald.
