Goofang

Wizards enter Goofang’s Lab during the quest Breaking the Hardline to free the Chairman and Vice-Chair of House Sayameez so negotiations can begin.

Goofang and the Sayameez Hardliners are opposed to an alliance of the Mirage Qhat houses.

“I can’t believe this – the nerve of you people to just storm into my Laboratory. Have you no respect for Sayameez tradition? Of course not! You are outsiders, unworthy in every aspect. We shouldn’t even let people like you inside the walls. You only bring discord and violence. In fact, I suspect it’s your influence that’s encouraged the Rebels. And it’s just as well. When I bring you down, the Rebellion will fall too.” – Gooofang

Official portrait of Hua Guofeng, Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party 1976 – 1981

Hua Guofeng was a Chinese politician who served as Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party and Premier of the People’s Republic of China. The designated successor of Mao Zedong, Hua held the top offices of the government, party, and the military after the deaths of Mao and Premier Zhou Enlai, but was gradually forced out of supreme power by a coalition of party leaders between December 1978 and June 1981, and subsequently retreated from the political limelight, though still remaining a member of the Central Committee until 2002.

The current list of all the (known) Mirage references can be found here.

Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references but I do not claim to have caught them all. Let me know your favorites in the comments and if I’ve missed one you caught, let me know so I can add it to the list.
