Tabitha is one of the three Weird Sisters along with Samantha and Endora. She is an experienced Gummy scientist.
Bewitched is an American fantasy sitcom television series that originally aired for eight seasons on ABC from September 17, 1964, to March 25, 1972. The show was popular, finishing as the second-rated show in America during its debut season, staying in the top ten for its first three seasons, and ranking in eleventh place for both seasons four and five. The show continues to be seen throughout the world in syndication and on recorded media.
Tabitha Stephens (Erin Murphy) is the daughter of a beautiful witch named Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery) and her mortal husband, Darrin Stephens (Dick York, later Dick Sargent). Adam is her younger brother.
Tabitha was conceived in 1965 and Samantha told Darrin she was pregnant several months later when she got confirmation. (“Alias Darrin Stephens”) She was born on January 13, 1966. (“And Then There Were Three”)
As a result of her unique heritage, Tabitha started using witchcraft at a young age, including twitching her nose. Samantha and Darrin had their hands full, trying to teach her when and when not to use her talent. She was unusually headstrong and needed extra discipline. Samantha and Darrin often told her, “Mustn’t twitch.”
In 1976 a spinoff about Tabitha was produced. In the first Tabitha pilot, Tabitha (Lisa Hartman Black) was in love with a mortal man, just like her mother was, but instead of a meddling witch of a mother-in-law, like her grandmama Endora, Tabitha has a meddling warlock brother. Adam popped in and out, trying to convince Tabitha to leave mortals alone and to pursue her life as a witch. This pilot was bought, but before the series was produced, the entire premise was changed.
In the new Tabitha pilot (1977), Adam is a mortal, just like their father, and he tried to convince Tabitha to live a normal, mortal life. A new witch aunt was also added, Aunt Minerva, who disliked Adam’s mortal ways and tried to get Tabitha to be more like a witch.
