Chakotay’s Medicine Bundle, I keep It Strapped To My Back Part 2
Yesterday we looked at how Chakotay managed to take his Medicine Bundle with him as he kamikazed the Maquis Raider in the Kazon ship. Today we follow up with more proof that Janeway’s First Officer goes to great lengths to keep his medicine bundle close at hand. Thank you to Marc S. for the initial suggestion.
At the Facebook group, Replicators were cited as a possible reasoning for this sudden appearance. If Chakotay uses Replicators, which have been rationed out to the crew to replace his medicine bundle (which is supposed to be a highly personal spiritual component of Chakotay’s faith), then he is getting FAR to cavalier in misplacing his medicine bundle. Look at Initiations. Chakotay brings his medicine bundle with him on the shuttlecraft.
After an episode’s worth of adventure with Nog’s Kazon counterpart, (where at NO time do we see the Medicine Bundle) Chakotay once again has the MB at the end of the episode. (Oops I lost another one).
I do prefer our explanation that Chakotay keeps it strapped to his back.
