As of 1970 Mercedes Benz was offering car phones as an option on their vehicles. But in the 1970s the car needed a sending and receiving unit mounted in the trunk. This unit was attached to rather large antenna.
That antenna is missing Mr. Bolt’s Thunderbird. So, Mr. Bolt MUST have ponied up for some impressive state of the art antenna-less car phone.
