Yes, this one of the lesser episodes in a series still looking to find its own voice. But the implications of the casting choices for this episode are the subject of another post.
Much proclamation is made about how once battle is started, it continues until the death of one of the combatants. So WHY when Yareena loses her weapon does combat halt until her weapon is returned? Yes, it would make for bad TV if the heroic Yar killed an unarmed opponent. But why didn’t the Ligonians continue the fight? Bad writing isn’t a valid Nitpicker reason, so it MUST be some convoluted reason having to do with honor that Yutan never bothered to explain.
