Take your television, computer monitor, or smartphone as an example. If you move to the side of the screen, you’ll see a distorted version of the same image that you see as you look at it head-on. You don’t get a different viewpoint.
Most folks have assumed for years that Federation viewscreens were basically Hi Def TV Monitors. Not so, we have proof that by the 24th century monitors are 3D holographic environments.
