Nitpicking Star Trek TNG “Brothers” – Meet in Engineering?

This is NOT a nit about the obvious lack of security on the Enterprise. Given the computer’s ability to track lifeform readings and COMM badges, one would think that the computer would be able to tell if Picard’s voice is actually coming from the same location is Picard’s COMM Badge. But that’s a discussion for later.

Today’s question is WHY would Picard order everyone to Engineering? They have to crowd around operations table. Why didn’t Picard order them to go to the Battle Bridge?
