It’s a TARDIS
Another nit about this scene that would be hard to do visually, how do Future Bill and Future Ted know Rufus’ name? In the beginning of the film Future Bill and Future Ted shout his name when arriving at the Circle K, thus introducing Current Bill and Current Ted to their benefactor. So where did the knowledge of Rufus’ name originate? It’s a bootstrap paradox.
Fun Fact: contrary to common belief, was not intended as a reference to the TARDIS from the British sci-fi show Doctor Who. (Co-writer Chris Matheson said, “All of us were so clueless and knew nothing about Doctor Who.”)
