Nitpicking The Terminator – Very Hot Fire, Future Metal Tech

Nitpicking The Terminator
Very Hot Fire, Future Metal Tech

Cremation typically requires temperatures between 1400 and 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. The specific temperature used can vary, but these are the common guidelines. The heat is crucial for breaking down the body into its basic elements.  A gasoline fire can reach temperatures of around 1500 degrees Fahrenheit (816 degrees Celsius).  This nit is NOT about whether a gasoline fire can burn hot enough to cremate flesh but rather how quickly the Terminator’s organics were cremated.

The melting points of the possible metals used in the Terminator’s frame are much higher; Steel, Hi-Carbon 2500 °F, Steel, Medium Carbon 2700 °F, Steel, Low Carbon 2600 °F, Stainless Steel 2550 °F, Titanium 3270 °F, Tungsten 6152 °F.

Current RAM memory has an operating temperature range of -25°C to 85°C (-13°F to 185°F).  The Terminator’s endo-skeleton is capable of surviving a fire hot enough to burn the organic components to ash in minutes and protect the CPU from that same catastrophic heat.
