Lawyer Extraordinaire, Mary Pason is representing Ned Collie at his trial. There is no question that Ned is guilty of the crimes he is accused of committing. Judge Raelee is presiding over the trial. After uncovering the fact that Ms. Bowder is a Marleybonian infiltrator and putting Judge Judi and Claudia Bee on the stand, Mary needs proof of the lawlessness of the judges. She sends you to the Hall of Judgment to photomance any lawlessness.
The Judges of Wallaru are the law. Here are their rules:
We don’t take off our helmets.
We enforce the law equally.
We follow orders.
We seize the dream.
Chief Judge: “You’re all out of control! You’re loose cannons! You tap dance right over the line like the rules don’t apply to you!”
Riggs: “I get results”
Chief Judge: “You get unnecessary explosions!”
Riggs: “Those explosions get results!”
Chief Judge: “Those explosions cost more than the crimes you’re fighting! Like, you, you destroyed a casino to catch something called Meowiarty.”
Harry: “I was feelin’ lucky, punk.”
Chief Judge: “I don’t even know what YOUR deal is.”
Kobra: “I don’t like the law.”
Chief Judge: “You are the law! You’re all on suspension. I order you to get out of here.”
Riggs: “Think we’ll just arrest this Wizard and save the day instead!”
Judge Harry destroyed a casino to capture Meowiarty. Harry was feeling lucky, punk.
Judge is a title held by several significant characters in the Judge Dredd series. The role of Street Judges combines those of judge and police officer, thus avoiding long legal wrangles by allowing for criminals to be tried and sentenced on the spot.
The Judges themselves are not above the law — a violation that would earn a citizen a few months in an Iso-Cube would get a Judge a twenty-year sentence, to be served at hard labor on Saturn’s moon, Titan.
Inspector Harold Francis “Dirty Harry” Callahan (born October 3, 1930) is a fictional character and protagonist of the Dirty Harry film series, which consists of Dirty Harry (1971), Magnum Force (1973), The Enforcer (1976), Sudden Impact (1983), and The Dead Pool (1988). Callahan is portrayed by Clint Eastwood in each film.
From his debut, Callahan became the template for a new kind of film cop: an antihero who does not hesitate to cross professional boundaries in pursuit of his own vision of justice, especially when the law is poorly served by an inept, incompetent bureaucracy.
Dirty Harry (1971) was directed by Don Siegel, and starred Clint Eastwood as Harry Callahan. Harry tracks serial killer Scorpio (loosely based on the Zodiac killer). Eastwood’s iconic portrayal of the blunt-speaking, unorthodox detective set the style for a number of his subsequent roles, and its box-office success led to the production of four sequels. The “alienated cop” motif was subsequently imitated by a number of other films. Early on in the movie, Callahan corners a bank robber and says, “You’ve got to ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’. Well, do ya, punk?”. The line became famous, although often misquoted as “Do you feel lucky, punk?”; the second movie, Magnum Force, opens with Harry asking, “Do you feel lucky?”
The Hall of Judgement is inspired by the Halls of Justice from the movie Mad Max.
The current list of all the (known) Wallaru references are located here.
Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references but I do not claim to have caught them all. Let me know your favorites in the comments and if I’ve missed one you caught, let me know so I can add it to the list.
