Nitpicking Star Trek: Voyager – Telepathic LCARS Cursor

LCARS (Library Computer Access Retrieval System) is Starfleet’s OS in the late 23rd and early 24th century. It is touch screen or voice controlled across all access points from PADDS to ship Helm and OPS. So WHY does it need a cursor? It must be 400-year old legacy code that developers have tried to remove but it crashes everything when it’s removed and programmers cannot explain why so they’ve left the code in place.

It’s nice to see that the cursor hasn’t changed in appearance in over 400 years.
