and Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country
Calling Ghost Hunters the Next Generation
Flashback was conceived as way for Voyager to celebrate Star Trek’s 30th anniversary. It was nicely done and cleverly found a way for Voyager (then stuck in the Delta Quadrant) to interact with some form of Starfleet (and Star Trek) history without needing to transportation to the Alpha Quadrant and back.
There was just ONE small, insignificant, (ok MAJOR) discrepancy. The episode needed to have a character die so the false repressed memory could be transferred to Tuvok, RIP Lieutenant Dimitri Valtane. Except when Sulu bids goodbye to Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise, there’s Lt. Valtane smiling with the rest of Excelsior’s bridge crew AND Tuvok seems to be missing from the group goodbye.
It is my solemn duty as a Nitpicker to explain why this discrepancy is NOT a mistake. As I state in the meme, Tuvok was in the bathroom at the moment of the goodbye. Lt Valtane’s ghost managed to become corporeal just long enough to be part of the group shot standing in what would have been Ensign Tuvok’s place.
Someone call the USS TAPS, we’ve got evidence for you to investigate.
