Today we’re looking at the Roku Spring “Stroll Through the Park”. This screen saver first debuted in 2023 and is still available (as of June 2025) as a selectable option.
You can see our list of the Easter Eggs in the current default Roku Screen Saver.
Easter Eggs from the “2022 Fall Stroll Through the Park” Roku City screensaver
Easter Eggs from the “2022 Winter Stroll Through the Park” Roku City screensaver
Easter Eggs in the “2023 Summer Stroll Through the Park” Roku City screensaver
We’ll start with the far side of the park.
The train on the water seems to be from Spirited Away
Godzilla is attacking the mainland near a nuclear reactor, though my granddaughter informs me that is definitely Reptar from Rugrats
That seems to be Big Ben
The windmill is from Moulin Rouge!
The Shire from Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit
The Eiffel Tower
The boast on the lake looks like its from The Notebook
That’s definitely Lord Farquaad’s Tower (Castle Duloc) from Shrek
Mt Fuji is in the background
Willy Wonka’s Wonkavator is flying next to it.
That’s Winnie the Pooh’s house where he lives under the name Sanders
The building with the columns looks a lot like the Lincoln Memorial
That’s definitely the tent of The Great British Baking Show
The cloud with the tail is from Nope
It’s hard to read in my photo taken from the TV screen, but under the cloud is the word “NILES”. In Fremont, CA is a sign that reads “NILES” similar to the Hollywood sign in LA. Charlie Chaplin filmed quite a few of his films there, including “The Tramp”. Niles is still the home of the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum.
The Covenant from Vertigo is next
Bugs Bunny’s burrow with his mailbox
Neverland, home to Peter Pan and the Lost Boys
Cameron’s Dad’s Porsche is parked out front of this High School. We have several theories about which High School:
Glenbrook North High School from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Shermer High School from The Breakfast Club (my personal pick)
East High School from High School Musical
or Rydell High from Grease
Where the title character worked in 2001 film Amélie.
We’re not sure what the silhouette on the third floor is.
Now Showing: The Sound of Music
Coming Soon: Avatar
Hamilton seems to be playing at the Roku theater, though the poster looks like a cross with the directional buttons of the Roku remote.
We’re stumped as to the reference of the restaurant/club.
Inside is a topiary homage to Roku’s long-used Nintendo-Controller for a chest large robot from the default screen saver. The robot is a Jeager from Pacific Rim
Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors can be seen on the main floor.
On the second floor of the shop is Weird Al’s accordion. This is either a reference to UHF or more likely Weird: The Al Yankovic Story which was originally shown on the Roku channel in 2022.
In the attic of the first townhouse is Wayne Szalinski’s shrinking machine and apple from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
There is no consensus about the shadows on the second floor. The shadows on the first floor seem to be a tiny city, but we’re stumped as to the reference.
In the second townhouse we can see Baby Groot borrowing Star Lord’s Walkman. Presumably he’s dancing to “I Want You Back” by the Jackson Five.
On the second floor of the same townhouse is Wall-E’s potted plant in a boot.
How’d we do? Are there any we missed? Do you disagree with our conclusions?
