Henry Wellingbrook

Henry Wellingbrook is one of the Yeoman Warders who stands guard outside Barkingham Palace. The first time you meet him he informs your wizard that the history of Marleybone is scattered throughout the city and entrusts you to find them and bring them back. Even though he’s not supposed to talk while on duty, Henry confides in your wizard that he is indeed quite bored and is thinking of studying magic. It also seems the guard is in a bit of a predicament with the ladies.

Henry tasks your wizard with asking three young ladies out on a date with him. The first, Emily Chesterfield, he would like to take to the theater. Even though Emily thinks Henry is nice chap, she turns down his invitation with an emphatic “NO!” (Quest: As the Bone Turns)

Luckily Henry has a backup plan. He’d like to ask Ms. Marphely to the park this weekend instead. Amazingly even though Ms. Marphely hears that Henry is quite the gentleman, she turn down his invitation as well and threatens to box Henry’s ears if he comes to Chelsea. Henry accuses your Wizard of doing something to upset these young ladies as he cannot guess why they would be so angry with him. (Quest: Young and the Boneless)

Henry’s third intended paramour, Tracy Castleton has the answer. Henry mixed up the letters. Your wizard delivered Emily’s letter to Ms. Marphley and vice versa. She advises you to Henry that he should ask a lady out in person. (Quest: Bone and the Beautiful)

Henry’s love life could be a storyline on a soap opera. A soap opera (also called a daytime drama or soap) is a genre of a long-running radio or television serial, frequently characterized by melodrama, ensemble casts, and sentimentality. The term soap opera originated from radio dramas’ original sponsorship by soap manufacturers. The genre’s target audiences were housewives who watched the shows while doing chores around the house while children were in school and husbands were at work. One of the defining features that make a television program a soap opera is “that form of television that works with a continuous open narrative. Each episode ends with a promise that the storyline is to be continued in another episode”. Henry’s quests are plays on three famous soap operas.

As the World Turns title card

(Quest: As the Bone Turns) – As the World Turns (often abbreviated as ATWT) is an American television soap opera that aired on CBS for 54 years from April 2, 1956, to September 17, 2010. With 13,763 hours of cumulative narrative, As the World Turns has the longest total running time of any television show. In terms of continuous run of production, As the World Turns at 54 years holds the fourth-longest run of any daytime network soap opera on American television, surpassed only by General Hospital, Guiding Light, and Days of Our Lives. As the World Turns was produced for its first 43 years in Manhattan and in Brooklyn from 2000 until 2010.

The show passed its 10,000th episode on May 12, 1995, and celebrated its 50th anniversary on April 2, 2006. On September 18, 2009, As the World Turns became the last remaining Procter and Gamble-produced soap opera to air on CBS for 15 years, until Beyond the Gates premiered on CBS on February 24, 2025. On December 8, 2009, CBS announced it was canceling As the World Turns after a run of almost 54 years due to low ratings. The show taped its final scenes on June 23, 2010, and its final episode aired on September 17, 2010.

The Young and the Restless title card

(Quest: Young and the Boneless) The Young and the Restless (often abbreviated as Y&R) is an American television soap opera created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell for CBS. The show is set in the fictional Genoa City (named after the real-life Genoa City, Wisconsin). First broadcast on March 26, 1973, The Young and the Restless was originally broadcast as half-hour episodes, five times a week. The show expanded to one-hour episodes on February 4, 1980.

Since its television debut, The Young and the Restless has won 11 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series. It is also currently the highest-rated daytime drama on American television, a rank it has held for 34 years as of the end of the 2021–22 season. As of 2008, it had appeared at the top of the weekly Nielsen ratings in that category for more than 1,000 weeks since 1988. As of December 12, 2013, according to Nielsen ratings, The Young and the Restless marked an unprecedented 1,300 weeks, or 25 years, as the highest-rated daytime drama. The serial is also a sister series to The Bold and the Beautiful, as several actors have crossed over between shows. The serial aired its 13,000th episode on November 13, 2024. On February 27, 2024, the series was renewed by CBS to run through the 2027–2028 television season.

The Bold and the Beautiful title card

(Quest: Bone and the Beautiful) The Bold and the Beautiful (often referred to as B&B) is an American television soap opera created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell for CBS. It premiered on March 23, 1987, as a sister show to the Bells’ other soap opera The Young and the Restless; several characters from each of the two shows have crossed over to the other since the early 1990s. Set in Los Angeles, California, the show centers upon the Forrester family and their haute couture business.

On September 7, 2011, the series switched to high-definition television, making it the second-to-last American soap to make the switch, at the time. The series celebrated its thirtieth anniversary on March 23, 2017. The serial aired its 9,000th episode on April 18, 2023. Currently, the serial has been renewed by CBS to run through the 2027–2028 television season.
