I asked my Tuesday DnD group for magical items they’d like statted out. Darryl asked for a Flying Carpet. THIS is not what he asked for.
Many eons ago, an elf Druid, Mor’oh was banned from his enclave for magically cross breeding various beasts. He was banished for violating the “Laws of Nature”. Undeterred by his banishment, Mor’oh continued his unnatural experiments. The Druid had as many failures as he had successes. The Pegamouse was bred magically combining the aspects of a Terrier, Eagle, and Mouse (Canid, Avian, and Rodent). Mor’oh cheekily called it a Flying C.A.R. pet. Most rangers and learned scholars call it a Canis Aves Rodentia familiaris, the Pegamouse. The Firefly Cherub is a breed of Pegamouse.

Innate Spellcasting.
The Firefly Cherub’s innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 13). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: light, thaumaturgy
1/day each: cure wounds, shield of faith, calm emotions
Glowing Presence.
The Firefly Cherub sheds dim light in a 10-foot radius and bright light in a 5-foot radius. Allies within the glow have advantage on saving throws against being frightened.
Heavenly Wings.
While flying, the Firefly Cherub can hover and is unaffected by difficult terrain created by non-magical means.
Actions
Radiant Nuzzle. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature.
Hit: 1d4 + 3 radiant damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 13 Charisma saving throw or be charmed until the end of the Firefly Cherub’s next turn.
Reactions
Protective Flutter (Recharge 1 D6 turns).
When an ally within 10 feet is targeted by an attack, the Firefly Cherub can dash between the attacker and the target, imposing disadvantage on the attack roll. If attack is successful, damage is equally split between the Firefly Cherub and the intended target.
Description
Gentle creatures of the Upper Plains, Firefly Cherubs are said to be messengers of peace and tiny guardians of lost travelers. With fluffy coats, soulful eyes, and shimmering wings, their mere presence can soothe the hearts of the weary. Often summoned by druids, celestials, or fey beings, they are adored not only for their innocence but also for their surprising usefulness in tense encounters.
