It’s the Fleet Insignia Part II
We covered this nit back in September 2023. We’ve been getting a few (ok quite a few) IMs at the Facebook Nitpicker’s Guild page. Quick recap since I’m not copying and pasting the entire article.
The USS Shenzou, the USS Discovery, and USS Intrepid (TOS Court Martial S1 Ep20) have all been canonically shown to have the same insignia as the USS Enterprise. Each ship in Starfleet did not have its own insignia. Starfleet didn’t begin using the Enterprise’s insignia across the whole of Starfleet until sometime after Kirk but before Picard.
