Nitpicking Star Trek TAS – Scotty’s Unfortunate Transporter Malfunction

Ah, Saturday morning cartoons, sitting in your pajamas watching TV and eating sugary cereal while your parents slept in. Those were the days. Animation was done on the cheap and Star Trek was no exception. Though Star Trek WAS a bit higher quality than a lot of early 70s Saturday morning fare. Does this give Star Trek: TAS a pass from the Nitpicker’s eye? No.

This particular nit is seen throughout the entire series as it was subsequently used as stock footage for whenever a shot of Scotty was needed at the engineering station. Yeah, they saved money by only drawing Scotty’s torso but it didn’t quite line up with the background. To be fair, this detail went unnoticed on the curved tube TVs of the time.
