Description
The Dire Basselope is a bizarre predator of uncanny origin. With the heavy body and mournful face of a basset hound, twisted antelope horns, and a hunched, muscular frame, it stalks the night plains. Its long ears drag across the ground, brushing dirt and foliage, picking up strange scents. Its low, booming howl reverberates with unnatural despair, sapping the will of even the most battle-hardened adventurers.
Traits
Drooping Stare. The Dire Basselope’s doleful gaze unsettles foes. A creature that starts its turn within 10 feet must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or have disadvantage on its next attack roll until the end of its turn.
Charge. If the Dire Basselope moves at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and then hits it with a Gore attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 10 (3d6) piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Ear Sweep. When the Dire Basselope takes the Dash action, it can choose one creature adjacent to its path. That creature must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or take 9 (2d8) bludgeoning damage and be pushed 10 feet to the side.
Actions
