I’m an Iowa boy. I know you need good fertile black topsoil to grow corn, the kind you find in Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois and Indiana. Not the hard-pack dirt of Oklahoma.
But there it is on screen, a lush beautiful field of corn. The type that Kevin Costner would plow under to build a baseball field, with nary a mountain in sight. It is apparent that within the next 125 years, Oklahoma decides at some point to level the Ouachita Mountains and bring in enough black dirt topsoil to grow corn.
