Sister Constance

Sister Constance is formerly the queen’s confidant and adviser, she may be able to guide you to Lake Nimue, if you can free her from prison. Once she’s been freed, she advises you on how to eventually enter the Overlook Tower which will allow you to open the Portcullis that leads to Lake Nimue. One of the things you will need to do is blow up the armory with the Blessed Pomegranate of Avalon.

First shalt thou raise the Blessed Pomegranate. The, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less.

Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shalt be three.

Once the number three be reached, lobbest thy Blessed Pomegranate of Avalon towards thou foe, the Armory, who shall snuff it!

Brother Maynard was a character in the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, played by Eric Idle. He was an elderly monk and the keeper of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. He joined King Arthur and his knights in their quest for the Holy Grail with his brother, and took the holy hand grenade with him.

Brother Maynard’s Brother (Michael Palin) and Brother Maynard (Eric Idle) read from the Book of Armaments

When Tim the Enchanter led Arthur and the knights to the cave where the location of the grail is written onto the wall, the knights didn’t manage to defeat the cave’s vicious guardian, a killer rabbit, so they figured out that they could kill the rabbit with the holy hand grenade. Brother Maynard and his brother opened the chest in which the hand grenade was locked, and Maynard’s brother read out the “terms of use” from the Book of Armaments.

The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch

The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch was a weapon in Brother Maynard’s keeping. According to the Book of Armaments, chapter two, verses nine through twenty-one, it was consecrated by Saint Attila.

And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, ‘O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits. in thy mercy’ And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats…

(At this point, Brother Maynard’s Brother is interrupted by Maynard himself, who tells him “Skip a bit, Brother.” Maynard’s Brother continues.)

And the Lord spake, saying, ‘First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.’
