Nitpicking Star Trek – Scotty’s Missing? Finger

After last week’s post about animated Scotty’s unfortunate transporter malfunction, I’ve had number of Facebook replies and DMs, most notably from Dino B. and Paul L. noting that Scotty’s finger had regrown in the animated series.

Trekkers know the reality is that James Doohan lost a finger in in WWII. However Scotty the character was portrayed as having all his fingers, except in rare instances like the two seen above.

So, it’s up to the Guild to explain where reality and reel-ity collide. It’s Q’s fault.
