Traits

  • Swarm. The swarm can occupy another creature’s space and vice versa, and the swarm can move through any opening large enough for a Tiny insect. The swarm can’t regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.
  • Temporal Distortion Aura. Any creature that starts its turn within 10 feet of the swarm must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be slowed until the start of its next turn. While slowed in this way, a creature’s speed is halved, it can’t take reactions, and it can either take an action or a bonus action on its turn (not both).
  • Disorienting Whirr. Creatures in the swarm’s space have disadvantage on saving throws against being frightened or confused.

Description
When an adventurer strays too close to the cursed Grandfather Clock, its wooden seams groan open, releasing a cloud of buzzing Time Flies. These unnatural insects flicker in and out of temporal sync, their wings humming in arrhythmic beats that scramble the mind. Their bites pierce more than flesh — they gnaw at sanity itself, eroding thoughts and bending time around their victims.
