Protect the Decal at ALL Costs
Stepping out of universe for a second, I saw this one in the theater. It was jarring. I couldn’t understand HOW this got past the Set Decorator, the Director, the Editor, anyone watching dailies. It’s right there. Now that I’m older and have actually worked with installing vinyl decals, I can tell you that once the decal is in place and smoothed down you don’t (let me emphasize that) DON’T install the vinyl and leave the transfer tape in place. That tape comes off the second you’ve got vinyl decal in place.
I can only hope that whoever was responsible for that monumental gaffe hangs their head in shame every time they watch this scene.
