Requires attunement with a Druid

Appearance
A long, moss-green scroll bound with vines instead of ribbon. The parchment is etched with glowing druidic runes that shift like leaves in the wind. Tiny sprouts sometimes poke through its rolled edges. When it speaks, the voice is like wind through trees or rushing water. Its runes glow faintly like fireflies, shifting with the seasons — green in spring, golden in autumn, frosted blue in winter.

Sentience
Intelligence 12, Wisdom 16, Charisma 14

Alignment: Neutral Good
Speaks, reads, and understands Common, Druidic and Sylvan. Seldom converses in anything other than Druidic.
Communicates telepathically with its wielder within 60 ft.
Personality: Wise but playful — it loves riddles, herbal trivia, and giving unsolicited gardening advice.

Base Powers (Uncommon, Levels 1–4)

  • Nature’s Aid: Once per long rest, the scroll can cast Goodberry without components.
  • Living Guide: Advantage on Nature checks while consulting the scroll.
  • Awakened Pages: The scroll unrolls itself and flaps like wings, acting as a dim green light (15 ft. radius).
  • Granted Spells: While attuned, the druid may cast the following spells once per day each, without expending a slot (still requires concentration where applicable):
    • Entangle
    • Speak with Animals

Growing Powers (Rare, Levels 5–10)

  • Bonded Guidance: Once per day, regain a 3rd-level or lower druid spell slot after a short rest.
  • Animated Form: The scroll can scuttle, hover, or flap like wings (10 ft. speed) for 10 minutes.
  • Additional Granted Spells (1/day each):
    • Spike Growth
    • Pass without Trace
    • Lesser Restoration

Greater Powers (Very Rare, Levels 11–16)

  • Protective Vines: As a reaction, can grant the wielder +2 AC against a single attack, tangling with spectral roots.
  • Scroll Spirit: Can animate fully into a Small fey-construct creature, accompanying the druid for up to 1 hour.
  • Druid’s Counsel: Additional Granted Spells (1/day each):
    • Conjure Woodland Beings
    • Greater Restoration
    • Commune with Nature

Legendary Powers (Levels 17–20)

  • Ancient Druid’s Wisdom: Grants advantage on all Wisdom saving throws.
  • Nature’s Miracle: Once per week, the scroll can cast True Resurrection (appearing as the druidic cycle of rebirth).
  • Verdant Domain: While unrolled, it radiates a 30 ft. aura of lush greenery. Hostile undead and fiends in the aura have disadvantage on attack rolls.
  • Additional Granted Spells (1/day each):
    • Sunburst
    • Shapechange (restricted: only into beasts or plants)
    • Foresight (flavored as visions of the natural order)

Quirks

  • Hums softly like rustling leaves when pleased.
  • Sulks if near fire spells, occasionally smudging ink to make spells harder to read. Refuses to open if held near open flames.
  • Loves collecting pressed flowers — will beg the druid to tuck petals into its margins to record the beauty of the world.
