Kirk Pulls Rank and Cheats
I honestly thought I had covered this in the Guild before. Nope it was covered in an old Demotivational Poster. (Remember those?)
It makes sense. Kirk was willing to reprogram the Kobyashi Maru test to prove a point. He’d also be willing to reprogram the definition of Quadrant in the Starfleet main system that any trouble within 10 days of his ship would automatically be assigned to him.
It’s just sad that Kirk “forgot” this reprogramming and every ship in Starfleet protecting Earth and the heart of the Federation was re-assigned just because the Enterprise came home for a refit.
