Leaflight Amulet
Description
This delicate teardrop-shaped vial of enchanted glass contains a swirl of luminous green dust — finely ground from fey-touched moss and emerald spores gathered under moonlight. The vial is stoppered with a cork of living oak and suspended on a braided mithril chain that hums faintly with primal resonance.
When worn, the dust glows softly in rhythm with the wearer’s heartbeat, and faint whispers of leaves rustling in wind can sometimes be heard near the wearer’s ear. Crafted by the druidic circle of the Emerald Confluence, these pendants were said to contain “a single breath of the Feywild.” Elves of old wore them to maintain harmony with nature during times of blight or war. Some legends tell that the dust inside is not dust at all, but sleeping fey spores, waiting for their true home to awaken them.
Mechanics
Fey Resonance.
While attuned, you gain a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and saving throw DCs for spells that restore hit points or manipulate plants, animals, or the natural world (such as Entangle, Goodberry, Barkskin, or Healing Word).
Verdant Pulse (Recharge 5–6).
As a bonus action, you can release a small burst of the green dust into the air. Choose one of the following effects:
- Healing Pulse. You and all allies within 10 feet regain 1d4 hit points.
- Nature’s Grasp. Vines briefly sprout from the ground in a 10-foot radius. All creatures of your choice in that area must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = your spell save DC) or have their movement speed halved until the start of your next turn.
Heart of the Wild.
While you are in a forest, jungle, or other area of abundant plant life, you can communicate simple emotions and images to beasts and fey creatures as if under the effects of Speak with Animals.
Curse of Overgrowth (Optional DM Feature)
If too much of the pendant’s dust is released (such as by breaking the vial or failing to recharge it properly), the magic can surge out of control — causing the wearer’s immediate surroundings to sprout uncontrollably. Roots twist through floors, moss climbs walls, and vines may restrain friend and foe alike until the effect fades.
