Nitpicking Star Trek V is low-hanging fruit. That said, this scene has ALWAYS stuck in my craw. Admittedly it was filmed pretty cleverly by rotating the camera 90 degrees and then “flying” Kirk and Spock horizontally through a tilted set. But once you see the wires in the scene, they can never be unseen.

That leaves it up the Nitpicker’s Guild to provide an explanation. Those aren’t wires they are in fact beams of Vulcan Multi-Phasic Gravity Stabilization.
