Models Built with Inertial Dampeners
As Picard smashes the protective glass showcase History of the Entreprise models with a phaser rifle, we can see glass shard fall all over the place. Yet he doesn’t damage any of the models. The Enterprise-D has a heavy list but is fully intact. The Enterprise-C doesn’t seem to have moved at all.
But just a camera cut later for Lily’s reaction shot, the Enterprise-C and Enterprise-D are both broken. The saucer of the C has fallen off. The saucer of the D is still dangling but the Engineering section of the model is in pieces now. Lily picks up a piece and says, “You broke your little ships”.
The reality is the Prop Master (or assistant) broke the pieces to match Lily’s line. What’s REEL-ity? Inertial Dampeners in each model.
