Phread’s Christmas Carols

Phread (my puppet who “helps” at Hope Kids Sunday mornings seen here with Joshua Brotherton) pontificated recently that “Silent Night” may not be the most accurate Christmas carol.

Where was Jesus born? In a stable. Have you ever been in a barn? Is it quiet?

What was Jesus at the time? A baby. Have you ever worked in a nursery?

How were the shepherds notified? By a GREAT Choir of angels singing loudly enough that the shepherds were “sore afraid.”

So taking all that into account. I give you “Noisy Night” by Phread

My personal opinion is this is closer to the reality of that night

Noisy Night, Noisy Night
Sing dis song
Wif all your might
Staring at da baby dere
Wond’ring why Him has no hair
Cows and sheeps make no-oise.
So do baby boys.

Parody of “Silent Night” Lyrics by Joseph Mohr, Tune by Franz Xaver Gruber
Parody lyrics by Phread / Steve Nibbelink

Phread was also asked what his favorite Christmas Carol was. He likes the one about the Russian Weatherman.

This guy. Rudolph, the Red Knows Rain, Dear

Rudolph the Red, knows rain, dear.
Tells about it on TV
He’s a prognosticator
And talks predictively

Weatherfolk from other regions
Used to laugh at all his charts
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in their predictive arts

Then one barren Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
“Rudolph, with your charts so right
Will there be some snow tonight?”

Then the forecasters loved him
As they shouted out with glee
“Rudolph knows frozen rain, dear
He’ll go down in history”

Parody Lyrics by Phread / Steve Nibbelink

O Little Town of Bethlehem

O little town of Bethlehem
Dat where da terrorists be.
Dey blow up schools and hospitals,
Oh what a catastrophe.
Dey blow up cars and busses,
And make a lot of noise.
Jesus we ask that you will take care
Of the girls and boys.

Parody of “O Little Town of Bethlehem” Lyrics by Phillips Brooks 1868 to the tune “St. Louis” by Lewis Redner

No, this is NOT a real album.

I might regret this, but what songs would YOU like to hear a Phread version of?
