The 48th day of Resat 67252
I have been summoned.
The 49th day of Resat 67252
Six other would be adventurers have arrived at the fabled Palace of the the Silver Princess, former Regent of the Land of Honalee. We are:
Faylith, a comely Elf Druid,
Luna, another Elf Druid,
Eli (Eliezer), a Halfling Thief,
Simmons Axebreaker, a Dwarf Fighter,
Yapeth, Eli’s wife (also a Halfling Thief)
and Ali, a Human Cleric
When I look at Faylith, images spring unbidden within my mind; a walk in the dew of the morning woods, an injured bear cub, Druids…, a face twisted in anger…, a club… BLACKNESS
I must speak with Faylith about these. But not tonight. Tonight she sleeps, along with the other would be members of this band.
The Dwarf… Simmons, there is something about him I do not trust. Tomorrow we enter the castle.
The 51st day of Resat 67252
I write this while the smell of old stone and burned crystal still clings to my cloak. Has it been less than 48 hours since we entered? We reached the ruined halls of the Palace of the Silver Princess, drawn by rumors of a cursed gem and a kingdom brought low by its light. The palace stood like a wound in the land—beautiful once, but then twisted and now restored. The corridors shifted between grandeur and rot, and the silence carried the weight of something long betrayed. I remember feeling watched, though by what I cannot clearly say.
Inside, danger came in many forms: creatures warped by the gem’s influence, traps laid by desperation rather than malice, and echoes of lives that ended badly. I trusted my instincts more than my memory—following drafts of air, noting claw marks, watching how dust lay undisturbed for decades. At times I felt oddly certain I had walked halls like these before, though I know that cannot be true. Or perhaps it can. My thoughts are unreliable companions.
In the end, the evil bound to the palace was confronted and broken, though at great risk. We restored the castle to it’s former grandeur and now have an ally sitting on the throne and within her guard.
The 54th day of Resat 67252
Simmons that foul-smelling, befouling defiler of nature, has no respect for nature and the Creation of The-One-Above-All (Ja’wea to the elves of the Druid clan who took me in). He eats the rotted flesh of the vanquished and creatures not suitable for food, yet he claims to serve the same God. Perhaps that is one of the reasons I mistrust him so. How can he serve Ja’wea (by whatever name He is known to the Dwarves) when his practices differ so greatly from mine? Ja’wea forgive me, am I also somewhat prejudiced against his lack of whit? His questionable decisions nearly doomed our party more than once
Of our Merry band who saved Princess Verona, only Simmons, Faylith and I stay in Ericcson’s Ford. Eli and Yapheth have returned home. Luna has decided to return home after revealing she is my step-sister. Alas I have no memory of her. Perhaps that is why she is leaving? Ali, has found a caravan headed to his monastery and has left us for service in His name (Jay Hova? I believe this is the human name for the The-One-Above-All). Simmons has gone to seek shelter in the Dwarf community.
Faylith is reluctant to leave my side. I have rented quarters for us above the Inn (one common room, separate sleeping chambers). We spend our days sparring, and in meditation as she tries to help me recover my memories.
The 61st day of Resat 67252
Ja’wea, I VOW if Faylith’s brother, Ender ever crosses my path again he shall not leave until I have sent his soul to She’ole. Faylith’s story is not mine to tell, I can commit our shared memories to this Journal.
With Faylith’s guidance we were able to unlock some memories. I trust these as Faylith has verified them. I was helping Faylith escape her abusive home and make our way to the Druid enclave when we were met by Ender and his house guards. Ender is Faylith’s older brother and current head of the family.
Ender savagely attacked, beat me and left me for dead. Faylith refuses to talk much about what happened to her. My memories of my baby sister, Emeria and the Druid clan post attack are clearer. But for what Ender has done to Faylith and myself, he shall pay.
The 74th day of Resat 67252
Faylith confirmed today that the bear cub of my memory was her wild-shape form. It is a painful memory for her, but I gather that Ender was in some way responsible for the injuries Faylith received while wild-shaped. This is where we first met. Being a Ranger, I was not going to let one of Ja’wea’s creatures suffer. I brought the bear cub to my baby sister, Emeria and her Druid enclave.
The head of the Druid clan informed me that I had not rescued a bear cub but instead an initiate Druid in search of clan of her own…. As I read these entries I realize how confusing the might be as I am not recovering the memories in chronological order
The 2nd day of Vroden 67252
There hasn’t been much to write about the last twenty days. Faylith and I hone our fighting tactics, commune with Ja’wea and with nature. We have discreet inquiries out looking for Ender’s whereabouts and have received only vague rumors that he has been seen to the North East. Our bond is both strengthened and hindered by Ender’s crimes.
We received a note shoved under the door to our common room. It appears to be in Simmons hand-writing. Our presence is requested at the tavern tomorrow early afternoon.
