Prospector Zeke is an NPC found in the main area of each World. In Wizard City he sends young wizards to find the Smiths.
Each world I go to, I always find some’n have gone and forgot, like them dwarf-like fellers called the Smiths.

The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. Their line-up comprised singer Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce. They are regarded as one of the most important acts to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980s.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, their best song was “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out” from the album “The Queen Is Dead” (1986). It reached #25 on the UK Singles Chart. I cannot find any information about an American release.

I have always loved the pop culture references in Wizard (and Pirate) 101. This series was inspired by a series I did featuring the Heroes of Lemuria and their ties to early 20th Cent. pulp heroes. This is the first article chronicling the #W101PopCulture references detailed in the various Zeke Quests. The complete list can be found here.

Monochrome promotional photograph of The Smiths used for the release of the album The Queen Is Dead, also used in the inner gatefold of the same album cover in the UK, but not in the USA. The photograph is believed to be copyright 1985, Stephen Wright (the photographer) http://www.wrightphoto.co.uk/ – the UK album itself was originally copyrighted 1986 Rough Trade Records (catalogue now believed to be owned by Warner Music Group).
