The Turning Key, arguably the greatest addition to the Car Wars game. The key was the master design that unlocked the game from the grid and allowed it to grow and expand.
When I explained to my boys the fun that I had playing Car Wars in high school (mid 80s) they wanted to learn. I found some original sets on eBay and rebuilt my collection. We had a blast.
As they grew older their interest in the game waned a bit until one of them googled Car Wars Hot Wheels. We dusted off the rule books and I put together a 3x turning key in Adobe Illustrator. I know offer the .pdf to you.
The file has an original 1″ – 15′ scale key, a 1.5″ – 15′ scale (suitable for using Micro Machines) and the 1″ – 5′ (3X) scale (suitable for Hot Wheels or Matchbox diecast toy cars.
