Magni Farsight

Magni Farsight is the Warden of the local watch-tower, who has been driven from his post by invading forces. Someone with greater courage and skill in battle will have to retake the tower and light the signal fire.

Before you interact with Magni for any quests, he says “Be wary! There is great mischief afoot.”

Magni also gives your wizard the quest “Along the Watchtower” which is a reference to the 1967 song written by Bob Dylan and recorded by Jimi Hendrix

In Norse mythology, Móði; (anglicized Módi or Mothi) and Magni are the sons of Thor. Their names translate to “Wrath” and “Mighty,” respectively. Rudolf Simek states that, along with Thor’s daughter Þrúðr (“Strength”), they embody their father’s features.

Magni and Mothi, sons of Thor

Magni is the son of Thor and the giantess Jötunn Járnsaxa.

The current list of all the (known) Grizzleheim/Wintertusk references are located here.

Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references, I do not claim to have caught them all. Let me know your favorites in the comments and if I’ve missed one you caught, let me know so I can add it to the list.
