Ballard, OK Map #11 – A Car Wars Supplement

Map #11 of 12 for Ballard, OK

Map 11

55- A continued.  The Sunday school room add-on continued.

55 – BSt. Timothy’s Lutheran Church Parsonage – 217 Damian’s Way. The Parsonage is two-story home (5 DP) with attached garage.  There is a smaller storage shed (55-C 4 points metal armor) that used to house the church’s lawn mower and other outdoor items that parishioners would not want to find inside a church.

The gang uses the house as barracks for the sniper teams on duty in the bell towers.  4 3-man teams (each one minimum Cyclist +2, Gunner +3, Driver +1).  A duel-ready off-road pickup is parked in the garage.  Bikes are parked in the storage shed

The Marauders have no use for a church in the traditional sense. They have turned it into the gang’s first line of defense on Damian’s Way.  The bell towers are heavily armed with rocket launchers, wire-guided missiles, and recoilless rifles.  The curve in Damian’s Way by the BNSF track and trucking company as you come into town provides for slower (in theory) vehicular movement and a chance for spotters in the bell towers to determine if the arriving vehicles are friend, foe, or prey.

The Marauders do not let what little grass that grows in the area get too high as they want to keep a clear field of vision to Damain’s Way.  Neither do they try to let the Church look inhabited.  A highly observant traveler might notice the church is too kept up to be completely unused.

56 – Abandoned? single story home (56-A 5 DP) – 211 Damian’s Way.  Attached 2-stall garage.  Concrete driveway.  There is an old trailer home (56-B 5 points metal armor) on blocks out front. (DM’s Choice if this home is abandoned, home to a citizen of Ballard, or used by the Marauders)

57 – Livable two-story home, warehouse, and truck parking – 406 First St.  Hidden from the rest of the town by a tree line, 406 First St. is part what the Marauders and locals refer to as The Compound.  Crazy Mary (ADQ Vol 3 No 2 and Vol 4 No 3) and her crew call this little section of Oklahoma home.

For the complete rundown on Crazy Mary and her crew click here

57-A (7 DP) is Mary’s home (though Justin stays here as well), it is one of the nicer homes in Ballard.  The second story covers the attached 2-stall garage as well.  Mary employs 4 Guards to protect the property for when Mary and her crew are out running loads either for the Marauders or their own jobs.  They live in the Mobile home (57-C 5 points metal armor) parked near the entrance to The Compound off First St.  The guards are 2, 2-man teams [12-hours on, 12 hours off] (at least Driver +2 and Gunner +2) out fitted with state-of-the-art off-road duel-ready pickups .

57-B is Mary’s “garage”.  20’ reinforced metal building (10 points metal armor).  The warehouse has two fully enclosed trailer docks and can accommodate two tractor trailer units inside with the doors closed.  The doors are 15’ tall and are composed of 5 points of metal armor.  If they are open when a firefight breaks out on the property.  They will begin to close at the rate of 1 foot every second.  The door will take 15 turns to completely close.  At the NW corner of the warehouse is and access door for loading and unloading a 10-wheel truck.

It’s a quid-pro-quo.  The Marauders protect Mary’s property and privacy.  Mary runs supplies and loads for the Marauders.  Why does Mary make her home here in Ballard?  Mainly because the Marauders have figured out how to enter and exit I44 north of town without paying the tolls nor alerting the Turnpike Authorities.

58 – livable single-story home (5 DP) – 402 First St. Colin, Kevin and Rebecca are housemates when in town  Again, when compared to the rest of the homes in town, this is house is great condition.  On the roof of the home accessed from inside is a sniper’s nest.  If the alarm has been sounded by either the Marauders on watch on James Way or the snipers in the bell towers of St. Timothy’s, the sniper nest is immediately manned either by members of Mary’s crew or her guards.

59 – livable single-story home (5 DP) – 404 First St. BJ and Hoshi live here.  Another nice-looking house, however in what used to be the former owner’s entertainment room, Mary has outfitted a state-of-the-art tactical combat center.  When Mary and the crew are on the road, Hoshi keeps in contact with the convoy via the remaining satellite communications network and the radio tower on map #3.

How does Mary afford all of this?  She is VERY good at her job.  Stats for Mary’s Crew can be found here. If Mary and her crew are in town for whatever reason all listed vehicles will be parked on the premises. If the road crew is out on a run, the back up tractor trailer, the truck BJ is not driving this run, whichever vehicle Just left in town and the personal vehicles or each will be parked on the lot.
