Celebration! Taking the time to acknowledge the achievements of others. I am not the type of person who remembers to snap Photomancy in the middle of a fight. I am an OG gamer who is more familiar with an Atari 2600 joystick than I am with modern controllers. Too many buttons is tough for this old man. Other times I flat out forget that Photomancy during combat is even an option, so I have very few images of me actually helping other wizards in game.
Since, Steven is a MAX level wizard, I would be remiss if I failed to acknowledge Catherine Wildbreeze. We have been friends in Wizard101 for nearly a decade now. She shepherded Steven Ghoststalker from Celestia all the way through Empyrea and has been a BIG help on Karamelle, Lemuria, and Novus. I wouldn’t be a MAX level without her help.
Another reason I have few images of my helping others is because of who I DO spend most of my Wizard time with. As a grandpa I spend most of my time helping my Grandkids quest. Eldest Granddaughter is four and she and Grandpa both have wizards (hers is fire and mine is ice) in Krokotopia and we play according to her schedule. Eldest Grandson is three and together with his dad we have quested as far as Avalon (2 Fire and a Balance wizard) *Side note* you should hear him giggle and shout “Fire Puppy” whenever he (or Grandpa) cast Heck Hound *end side note* and we have all three completed an entire run on Pirate101.
I do help out folks I’ve befriended on social media sites when I can. I also have Gauntlet House where I can run my friends and family through any of the currently available gauntlets. The last time it was on tour it achieved a #4 rank. Drop me a line if you want to Gauntlet.
But the question for the month is HOW do I acknowledge the in game accomplishments of my friends? When their announcement crosses my feed on whichever social media platform I am on at the time (Facebook or Twitter) I post this in response to their accomplishment.
So if I am you friend on Facebook or Twitter AND I see an amazing accomplishment posted, you WILL be receiving one of your own. Now if only I can convince the Wizard101 Developers to make an in-game gift from my blog to go along with the award. I think it would be cool to have an on display CongaRat that you could display in your Castle or Dorm room.
