Kirk Fu, Not Just for Fighting
James T. Kirk is a master of the fighting style known as Kirk Fu.
This martial art allows the good captain to move very quickly. In the space of a camera cut without anyone seeing his hand movements, Cadet Kirk is able to swing his left hand up to grab the platform and then raise his right hand for Sulu to grab.
