This particular side-quest is only accessible if your Wizard is weaved into Life School.
It appears to the Trees of the Blended Grove that magic weaving is having some unintended consequences. Serge is convinced that Intersections of Iconic history are calling down different energies from the ether. Morrison is convinced this unplanned by-product of magic weaving must be stopped before it destroys us all. Viv and Old Sage calmly suggest that instead of panicking, research is required. They send you to Wysteria to talk to some of the students as the old growth trees native to Wysteria aren’t very chatty through the ley lines of the Spiral.
Bacon Malvoy is the first Pigswick Academy student you encounter who is willing to speak with you. He is haughty and dismisses your Wizard.
Life Magic? You still study LIFE magic? How droll. No we here study magic so advanced I don’t have time to explain to explain it to a peasant like you. – Bacon Malovy

Draco Lucius Malfoy is a fictional character and a major antagonist in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. He is a student in Harry Potter’s year belonging in the Slytherin house. He is frequently accompanied by his two cronies, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, who act as henchmen. Draco is characterized as a cowardly bully who tricks and hurts people to get what he wants; he is also a cunning user of magic. He was played by Tom Felton in the Harry Potter film series, while Lox Pratt is set to portray him in the TV series adaptation.
Draco serves as a foil to the hero, Harry Potter, and is loosely based on bullies Rowling encountered during her school days. Harry first encounters Draco’s snobbish bigotry after their initial encounter at Madam Malkin’s. Rowling uses the Malfoys to introduce themes of intolerance and bigotry into a setting where people are often judged solely by their blood lineage rather than their good character or accomplishments. Draco, adhering to his family’s beliefs, thinks that Muggle-born witches and wizards, which he and other characters derogatorily describe by the epithet Mudbloods, should be denied a magical education. Harry’s first impression that the Wizarding community is a “magical wonderland” is instantly shattered. Says Rowling, “[Harry] found out that many people in power in the wizarding world are just as corrupt and nasty as they are in our world.”
The current list of all the (known) Wysteria references are located here.
Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references, I do not claim to have caught them all. Let me know your favorites in the comments and if I’ve missed one you caught, let me know so I can add it to the list.
