Pink Blood? Nope Not Enough O2
Nearly every Trekker knows that Klingon blood was pink in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country to help the film achieve a PG rating by making the blood less visually alarming than red. While this served a pragmatic purpose for the movie’s creators, it contradicted the consistent portrayal of Klingon blood as red in most other Star Trek media. But Nitpickers operate in ‘Reel’-ity not reality.
Thus we need an explanation WHY for this one scene, Klingon blood contradicts every other on-screen portrayal. Lack of O2 on Kronos 1 due to sabotage. It’s the only explanation.
Either that or General Chang poured Pepto Bismol all over to confuse Doctor McCoy.
