Nitpicking Star Trek TNG – Protected By the Traveler

Still early in TNG’s run we get a show that introduces Warp 10 as the recalibrated speed limit of the universe. As the Traveler “inputs” Kosinski’s “Equations” the Enterprise D speeds into Doctor Who’s opening credits. Geordi informs Captain Picard that the Enterprise is passing Warp 10.

Two things: one, Warp 10 is described by Paris as being everywhere and everywhen all at once. It doesn’t look like that’s what the Enterprise did. Two, no one on the Enterprise turned into a Temporal Lizard.

So either Geordi’s sensors and instruments aren’t calibrated for such high speeds, or the Traveler protected the entire crew. Or maybe just a touch of both.
