Renee Wooften is a Marleybonian surveyor called in by Headmaster Ambrose in February of 2018. She began measuring up the Commons for future construction plans. During the reconstruction of Wizard City, she and her crew discovered underground tunnels and catacombs beneath Olde Towne and Golem Court.
Renee Wooten, known by his alias and eponymous character “Renee Wooften,” was a Producer at KingsIsle Entertainment from February 2021 to January 2022, working on Wizard101 and Pirate101. As Producer, he was the author of the Producer’s Letter for both games and succeeded longtime Producer Leah Ruben, who was promoted to Game Director. Previously, Wooten worked in Customer Support beginning in 2013 before becoming the the Associate Producer of both games beginning in October 2017. In January 2022, Wooten announced his formal departure from KingsIsle.
I have always loved the pop culture references in Wizard (and Pirate) 101. This series was inspired by a series I did featuring the Heroes of Lemuria and their ties to early 20th Cent. pulp heroes. This is the eleventh article chronicling the #W101PopCulture references starting in Wizard City. The current list of all the Wizard City references can be found here. These articles were originally put together for a Facebook group I belong to. Although I am well versed in Pop Culture references but I do not claim to have caught them all.
