In October of 2026 Roku City went all out to celebrate the Stream and Scream event. Each Monday all month long some new decoration or addition hit the neighborhood street.
Now that month is over and everyone has put away the Halloween Stream & Scream decorations, we thought it would be nice to archive the whole month in a standalone post.

Across the Bay got into the Stream and Scream spirit 10/26/2026
I want to thank Eli M. Boltron, Luv My Kitties, Mallory B, Desiree, M. Wiebe, Erica L., Silver Shamrock, Kendall, and A Trivial Mind for their help in identifying everything.
The pirate ship is enveloped by a ghostly fog. This could reference the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, specifically The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). It could also reference The Fog (1980) or The Ghostly Galleon (1974). The pyramid could be referencing Universal’s Mummy movies, Stargate (1994) or The Pyramid (2014). Kong is being attacked by what looks like Dracula’s brides from Van Helsing (2004), Gargoyles, or HUGE Flying Monkeys from the Wizard of Oz [L.M.K., Desiree, & Kendall]. The moon is from Coraline (2009) [Thanks to L.M.K. for catching my dyslexic typo]. The giant spiders attacking the ferris wheel are most likely from Eight Legged Freaks (2002). I’m told the cloud monster above Big Ben is from Nope (2022). Flying above the ROKU CITY sign is either the Wicked Witch of the West (Wizard of Oz 1939) or Samantha Stevens from Bewitched (1964-1972), though Uncle Arthur has evidence that places the latter as a sketchy identification.
This section has a better view of the witch on her broom. The Sleepless in Seatle building has a skull instead of a heart for the holiday. Thunderclouds gather over Mount Doom as lighting strikes Frankestein’s Castle or the castle of the Wicked Witch of the West.
The robot looks like it’s doing the Zombie Dance from Michael Jackson’s Thriller (1982). A giant squid is attacking the submarine just like it did to Captain Nemo’s Nautilus in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954). The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) is caught in the spotlight of Alacatraz Island. The mothership is landing on Devil’s Tower ala Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977)
10-5-2026 The Apartment Building is all decked out for Halloween or as Roku City likes to call the month “Stream and Scream”. The top floor is decorated in a Halloween themed alphabet evoking either Halloween (1978) or Hocus Pocus (1993). Owen from KC points out it could be from Stranger Things (2016-2025) Garfield has left the window and in his place is a 1980s style brick mobile phone evoking either Paranormal Activity 3 (2011) or the Scream series (Scream 1996, Scream 2 1997, Scream 3 2000). Forrest Gump has taken his box of chocolates to keep it away from trick-or-treaters and Salem has decided to vacate his perch on the trash can to recreate the movie poster for The Exorcist (1973)[thank you to LuvMyKitties for pointing out The Exorcist reference]. Someone has decorated the trash can with a pumpkin in Salem’s absence. Thank you to Eli M. for the alert.
10/12/2026 Continuing the decorations and changes for October’s Stream & Scream, the Barbershop has a billboard on the roof that Cindy G. thinks could be a reference to The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) [I’m not convinced does anyone have a better idea?] Sulksif and Bender both agree that the billboard features a Willow Wish Stick from Obsession (2026). The peeping Tom has left. The logo for the shop evokes Edward Scissorhands (1990). The pod out front is for Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), Alien (1979), or Little Shop of Horrors (1986). Thank you to Owen of KC and Eli M. for the heads-up.

10-5-2026 the seasonal store Spirit Halloween seems to have taken over the courthouse. They’ve erected their banner and a large inflatible jack o’ lantern. Lovers Glitter thinks the big giant inflatible pumpkin is from Halloweentown (1998). The Doctor has moved his TARDIS and there’s a pumpkin decoration out front. Thank you to Eli M. for the alert.
10/19/26 Left to Right; Foxy, Chica, and Freddy Fazzbear from Five Nights at Freddy’s (2023) are inside the Diner. Charlotte G. thinks the van could be the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine… it’s the wrong shape and lacks the psychadelic flowers. Nate & Shannon and Phil & Kelli have IDed the van as being from Friday the 13th Part III (1982). There are pumpkins on the landing. Charlotte G. thinks the roadster could be Greased Lighting from Grease. Ranee S. thinks it could be the 1958 Jaguar XK 150 Roadster from Ghost Ship (2002). Mr Beetleman has correctly identified it as Doomie, Beetlejuice’s car from Beetlejuice the Animated Series (1989-1991). I’d say Doomie was based off the 1958 Jaguar.
Thanks to Owen from KC, Mallory B., Luv My Kitties, and Eli M. for the heads-up and identifying help.
10-5-2026 one of the captured ghosts has escaped the Ecto-Containment System and slimed the whole building. Someone (probably Ray Stantz) has decorated out front with pumpkins. Owen of KC wonders if the slime is actually the Blob from The Blob (1958 or 1988).
Thank you to Eli M. for the alert.
10/12/2026 – Covering the Haunted House is a whole flock of crows from Hitchcock’s The Birds (1963). Two tombstones are in the front yard labled STP or SP and LH. I’ll be honest my frined Cindy G. gave me about 15 obscure references that lack sufficient gravitas to be the actual reference {HELP!!!} Luv My Kitties thinks LH is for Lloyd Henreid (Randall Flagg’s right-hand man) from The Stand (2020-2021). Owen from KC wonders if the tombstones are a Poltergeist (1982) reference. The TPing of the home is straight out of Hocus Pocus (1993). The Wicked Witch of the West is still in a melted puddle out front, I never mentioned it in the main article because it’s always there.
Thank you to Eli M. and Owen of KC for the heads-up and suggestions.
10/19/26 The turtles have reteated to their lair in the sewer.
Owen from KC thinks the ship’s wheel in the open bay is from The Fog (1980) or The Goonies (1985), the stacked furniture is from Poltergeist (1982) and the stop sign is from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). Mallory B. is pretty sure the stacked furniture is a Backrooms (2026) reference. Danny’s trike from The Shining (1980) is parked near the “Droopy Dog” bush.
Thanks to Owen from KC, Mallory B., Luv My Kitties, and Eli M. for the heads-up and identifying help.
10/12/2026 – Let’s start on the sidewalk and work our way up. Cindy G. thinks the milkshake is a reference to The Stuff (1985), though Silksif wonders if it isn’t a reference for Pumpkin Spice Latte. Kasey thinks it could be a reference to Ice Cream Man (2026) Silksif also wonders if the cheeseburger on the table is a reference to The Menu (2022) (a shout out to Luv My Kitties who posted this same suggestion as I was working on the article). Donnie Darko (2001) is on the second floor. Coco has brought his guitar inside and left a pumpkin on the fire escape. M. Wiebe reminds us that October is pregnancy, infant child loss month and people leave out white pumpkins. I thought the rabbit is most likely from Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975). However, Rae is pretty sure that it is the Lich Snail from Adventure Time (2010-2018).
Thank you to Eli M. and Owen from KC for the heads-up and suggestions.
10/26/26 The theater is being attacked by The Blob (1958) while showing a double feature of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and Vertigo (1958) Thank you to Nate & Shannon for the correction. L.M.K points out the theater masks have Jack-O-Lanternized. For historical accuracy, I need to point out that the Patrick Stewart replaced this on 10/30/2026
10/19/26 – Lots to unpack here. Lets start in the lower left corner and work clockwise. Owne from KC and Mallory B. both think the 2:17 refers to Weapons (2025). That’s Teenwolf (1985) dunking a basket. Desiree noticed the hand no longer has an arm and identified it as Thing from The Addams Family (1964-66, 1991, 2019), though Owen from KC thinks the stitching identifies it as Frankenstien’s Monster. Kendall has specifically pointed out it is Thing from Wednesday (2022 – current). The tv set is only showing static ala Poltergeist (1982). The smiley face is now a jack o’ lantern and Charlotte G. thinks the waveform pattern in the lower center could be referencing White Noise (2005) or Undertone (2026).
Thanks to Owen from KC, Mallory B., Luv My Kitties, and Eli M. for the heads-up and identifying help.
10-5-2026 The station is decked out for the holiday with Halloween wreaths. Harry Potter has added a pumpkin to his cart. The Sanderson sisters (Hocus Pocus 1993) have parked their conveyances out front; Winifred’s broom, Mary’s vacuum cleaner, and Sarah’s mop. A Roku Remote themed Jack o’ Lantern is by the subway entrance. Thank you to Eli M. for the alert.
Apperaring on Main Street for Stream and Scream on 10/26/2026 is the Myer’s house from Halloween (1978). In the second story windo is either Michael Myers or the Invisble man (Thank you Brawnie for the suggestion). The trick or treaters in the bushes are Huey, Dewey and Louie (Donald Duck’s nephews) from the Disney short Trick or Treat (1952)
New cars were spotted driving through town all month.

10-5-2026 Thank you to Eli M. for the alert.
